KSRTC posts Rs 1.57 crore profit after 40 years

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 13 (UNI) The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has registered a profit of Rs 1.57 crore after a gap of 40 years, marking a historic turnaround for the debt-ridden corporation.
On September 8, KSRTC earned a record single-day ticket revenue of Rs 10.19 crore by operating 4,607 buses, the highest in the corporation’s history.
The achievement comes despite the state government spending nearly Rs 10,000 crore on KSRTC over the past nine years to sustain operations and modernisation.
