Koraput–Puri tri-weekly Express to boost direct connectivity across Odisha: Vaishnaw

Bhubaneswar, May 14 (UNI) union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday said the newly introduced Koraput–Puri–Koraput Tri-Weekly Express will significantly strengthen direct rail connectivity between Puri and vast regions of western and southern Odisha, offering major benefits to passengers across the state.
The new train service will run via Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Muniguda, Rayagada, Tikiri, Laxmipur Road, Kakiriguma and Damanjodi, connecting coastal Odisha with the underserved western and southern districts.
Vaishnaw said the train will greatly enhance travel convenience for people seeking access to pilgrimage destinations, tourism circuits, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, employment hubs and business centres. He noted that the service will be particularly beneficial for residents of the KBK region and tribal-dominated districts, improving their integration with the rest of the state.
