Kolkata cops arrest 3 for assaulting two vendors during Gita Path

Kolkata, Dec 11 (UNI) Kolkata Police have arrested three suspects, accused of manhandling two small-time vendors during the Gita Path at Brigade Parade Ground on December 7 for selling chicken patties to them, official sources said on Thursday.
The city police swung into action after the two Mulsim vendors, one from Topsia in the eastern part of the city and the other from Arambagh in Hooghly district, were selling chicken patties when they were allegedly attacked by the three accused, who allegedly beat the vendors. One of the arrested was physically handicapped from his lower limb
The Kolkata Police, after going through a viral video clip, picked them from their respective homes on Wednesday night. Arrested Soumik Goldar, Tarun Bhattacharya and Swarnendu Chakraborty have been produced before the Bankshall court in the city seeking further police remand for interrogation, sources said.
