Koli community warns bays filled for development

Mumbai, Aug 5 (UNI) The Koli community in Thane district has raised urgent concerns over ongoing reclamation activities along coastal bays, alleging that soil and construction debris are being dumped under the guise of development projects.
This practice, they assert, is devastating their centuries-old fishing livelihood.
Rapid urbanisation, port expansions and industrial encroachment into estuary zones have systematically degraded the natural ecosystems essential for fishing.
