Kolhapur: ACB nabs Mandal officer, private agent for accepting bribe of Rs 60,000

Kolhapur, May 18 (UNI) Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials today arrested a Mandal officer and his private agent for accepting bribe of Rs 60,000 from the complainant to register his name on a 7/12 certificate as per the court's order.
The arrested persons were identified as Amitkumar Jagnnath Padalkar (44), Mandal officer (additional charge of Nandni village in Shirol tehsil of this district), resident at Rajendrnagar, suburb of the city, and his private agent Shivaji Aanandrao Jadhav (61) resident of Dharangutti in Shirol tehsil.
An ACB press release said, the complainant had applied to the Mandal officer to register his name on his 7/12 certificate as per court's order. He met Padalkar and requested him to include his name in the certificate, whereupon the officer demanded a bribe Rs 1,25,000. Then the matter was settled at Rs 60,000 and Padalkar told the complainant to hand over the bribe amount to private agent Jadhav.
