Known for strong pro-Taiwan stance, President Pena of Paraguay to visit India

New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) China will be watching keenly when the President of Paraguay Santiago Peña Palacios, who has continued with his country’s pro-Taiwan stance, comes on a three-day State Visit to India from June 2-4.
President Pena will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Ministers, senior officials and business representatives, and will also visit Mumbai.
President Peña, a 46-year-old economist and former finance minister, has resisted Beijing’s overtures and warnings, to continue with his country’s pro-Taiwan stance.
