KKR stay alive as Finn Allen powers 29-run win over Gujarat Titans

Kolkata, May 16 (UNI) A dropped chance in the sixth over changed the entire course of the contest as Finn Allen transformed an early reprieve into a match-winning assault, powering Kolkata Knight Riders to a crucial 29-run victory over Gujarat Titans in the 60th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 at Eden Gardens on Saturday.
Allen, who eventually hammered 93 off just 35 balls, survived twice in the powerplay and made Gujarat pay heavily for both lapses.
The first warning came in the third over when Jason Holder, stationed at extra cover, managed only fingertips on a sharp chance off Mohammed Siraj. Three overs later came the defining moment. Allen miscued a pull off Holder straight towards long-on, but Siraj failed to hold on to what appeared a regulation catch.
