Khaira slams AAP govt over alleged fake police encounters in Punjab

Chandigarh, July 14 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira has strongly condemned the alleged fake police encounters taking place under the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, calling the state a "police raj" where the rule of law is being brazenly violated.
Citing recent media reports, Khaira expressed concern over 20 police encounters conducted in the past seven months, all under the pretext of "recovery operations." He claimed these operations have left 17 people dead and 17 others injured, suggesting that these are not isolated incidents but part of a systematic extrajudicial strategy.
“These killings are not accidents — they are a state-sponsored tactic to eliminate individuals without judicial trial,” Khaira alleged.
