Khaira alleges Punjab CM misled Sikhs on missing Guru Granth Sahib Saroops

Chandigarh, Jan 20 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Monday accused Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of misleading the Sikh community on the sensitive issue of the alleged disappearance of 328 saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Khaira said the matter has caused deep anguish among Sikhs across the world and termed it a serious breach of trust.
Khaira said the controversy took a new turn after Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema recently issued an apology at the Raja Sahib shrine near Banga, acknowledging that incorrect allegations had been made against the shrine management. According to Khaira, the apology has cast doubt on the claims earlier put forward by the Chief Minister and raised questions about the credibility of the government’s stand.
