Kerala: SI attacked, stabbed in Kozhikode Town

Kozhikode, Feb 14 (UNI) A police sub-Inspector (SI) was injured after a youth allegedly stabbed him with a sharp weapon for intervening in a dispute in Kerala's Kozhikode town today.
The accused youth, Pramod, a native of Edakkad, attacked Kozhikode Town SI Shafi, who intervened in a dispute that took place in a restaurant near the Kozhikode Town police station. Pramod stabbed Shafi from behind. Injured Shafi has been admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode. His injury is reportedly not serious.
Pramod, who had gone to have tea at the restaurant opposite the police station, was engaged in an argument with the staff there. The argument later escalated to a fight. Shafi reached the spot to resolve the issue. He was returning from the restaurant when Pramod stabbed the SI from behind.
