Kerala Police launches ‘Nirbhaya Nisha’ to ensure safe night travel for women

Thiruvananthapuram, March 9 (UNI) The Kerala police have launched the Nirbhaya Nisha initiative, a pioneering programme designed to ensure safe and independent travel for women at any hour across the state.
The inauguration took place at Manaveeyam Veedhi, where state police chief Rawada Chandrashekhar flagged off the programme, marking its rollout across 14 districts.
As part of the launch, 28 Force Gurkha jeeps, driven by women police officers, were deployed to strengthen the initiative’s operational readiness.
