Kerala: Lok Sabha campaign vehicles require permission

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 13 (UNI) Kerala Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Kaul on Saturday insisted that vehicles must not be used for election campaigning without proper authorization.
Stating that unauthorized use of vehicles for campaigning will be considered a violation, he said all vehicles used for campaigning must be registered with the District Election Officer, who will issue permissions specifying the vehicle's registration number, date of permission, candidate's name, and campaign area.
This permit must be clearly displayed on the vehicle's windshield, he said adding that candidates must report the details of all vehicles used in campaigning to the election expenditure monitors.
