Kejriwal to vacate CM house in 15 days: AAP

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) After resigning from the post of Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has decided to give up all government facilities and vacate the official house within 15 days, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said on Wednesday.

Addressing the media, Singh said, “After resigning on Tuesday, Kejriwal decided that he would give up all the facilities available to a Chief Minister.”

“While other leaders fight for years to get those facilities which they enjoyed while holding a post, Kejriwal has decided to vacate his official residence. Kejriwal will vacate the government accommodation within 15 days,” he said.

Raising concerns about Kejriwal’s security, Singh said, “The party leaders tried to convince Kejriwal that you have been attacked several times, your security is under threat. BJP workers attacked his house in the presence of his parents. Many times they were physically harmed and injured.”

“He has elderly parents, wife and children, we are all concerned about their safety. We tried to convince him that this house is important from the point of view of his security. But Kejriwal decided that God will protect him,” he added.

“Kejriwal will leave the government residence and live among the common people. It is not yet clear where he will stay, but a decision will be taken soon,” Singh said.

“The people of Delhi are very sad and angry with the decision of an honest Chief Minister had to resign. Kejriwal has done a lot for the people of Delhi. People of Delhi are asking what was the need for Arvind Kejriwal to resign? Kejriwal has served the people of Delhi with utmost sincerity. There was no need for him to resign,” Singh said.

Accusing the BJP of making false allegations of corruption against Kejriwal, Singh said, “The people of Delhi and the country are seeing that for the last two years, the BJP is constantly trying to defame Kejriwal. The BJP made false allegations of corruption against him, while wrongdoing worth even one rupee could not be proved.”
