Kathryn Newton to reprise Cassie Lang role in Marvel's 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Los Angeles, Apr 17 (UNI) Actress Kathryn Newton is poised to reprise her role as Cassie Lang in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe instalment "Avengers: Doomsday", marking her return to the franchise following her appearance in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" (2023).
In a video posted on her X account, Kathryn Newton confirmed that she will reprise her role as Cassie Lang in "Avengers: Doomsday". She made a brief appearance in the trailer shown off at CinemaCon yesterday, which came as a surprise to many, as she was not a part of the initial cast announcement made back in early 2025.
However, Marvel Studios has finally made up for it by providing her with an appropriately small production chair that bears her name. Newton is certainly a welcome addition to Doomsday, which also features her on-screen father, Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd.
The movie will see Earth’s mightiest heroes facing a powerful new threat in Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.. The film is already generating significant buzz following footage revealed at CinemaCon 2026, which included a brief moment between Scott Lang and his daughter, hinting at their continued relationship on screen.
Other actors confirmed for the film include Robert Downey Jr., Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), Florence Pugh (Yelena), Tenoch Huerta (Namor), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Thing) and Kelsey Grammer (Beast).
The film also stars Lewis Pullman (Sentry), Danny Ramirez (Joaquín Torres / Falcon), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Winston Duke (M’Baku), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier / Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Channing Tatum (Gambit).
Newton adds “Avengers: Doomsday” to a list of 2026 theatrical releases that includes “Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come” and the thriller “DreamQuil,” which just had its world premiere at SXSW last month.
Other upcoming titles for the actress include “The Devil’s Mouth,” “Samo Lives,” and “White Elephant.”
“Avengers: Doomsday” hits theaters on December 18.
