Kashmir sees 1st snow, heavy rain likely Oct 5–7

Srinagar, Oct 3 (UNI) The upper reaches of Kashmir received season’s first spell of snow while plains including Srinagar were lashed by rains, the Meteorological (MeT) department said.
A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening which can bring widespread rain and snowfall in the upper reaches of Razdan Top, Zojila Pass, Sinthan Top and Peer ki Gali.
MeT centre director Mukhtar Ahmad said light snow was recorded in the Affarwat area of Gulmarg in Baramulla district, Sinthan Top in Anantnag district and several other upper reaches.
