Karni Sena protest in Lucknow; several injured during effigy burning

Lucknow, March 10 (UNI) Supporters of Karni Sena staged a protest in the Hazratganj area here on Tuesday against an allegedly objectionable remark made targeting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by Maulana Abdullah Salim.
During the demonstration, protesters raised slogans and burned an effigy of Salim. A fire brigade team was present at the scene as a safety measure to control the fire.
However, chaos broke out shortly after the effigy burning when a firefighter allegedly mishandled a fire extinguisher while attempting to put out the flames. According to reports, the direction of the extinguisher’s powerful discharge suddenly changed, spreading flames and sparks toward nearby journalists and protesters.
