Karnataka rates lower than Maharashtra, says HM

Bengaluru, Nov 6 (UNI) The ongoing sugarcane protest in Belagavi, north Karnataka, has drawn attention from the state government.
Home Minister G Parameshwar said such agitations occur every year in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
He explained that sugarcane rates are based on sugar recovery, which is lower in Karnataka, making direct comparison with Maharashtra’s rates inappropriate.
