Karnataka MLAs defy KPCC chief, camp in Delhi for cabinet rejig

Bengaluru/New Delhi, Apr 14 (UNI) In a show of open defiance, a group of Congress MLAs from Karnataka has taken the battle over Cabinet reshuffle to New Delhi, ignoring a clear warning from KPCC chief and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and escalating pressure on the party high command ahead of the Karnataka government completing three years in office.
Camping in the national capital, the legislators have dug in their heels, declaring they will not return to Bengaluru without securing a meeting with AICC general secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala, in a coordinated push for a long-pending Cabinet rejig.
The move marks a significant assertion by a section of MLAs seeking to force the leadership's hand on power-sharing, with the reshuffle demand gaining urgency as the government nears its mid-term milestone. Sources indicated that several legislators who were denied ministerial berths or are dissatisfied with their current roles are backing the push, citing regional and caste balance as key concerns that need to be addressed in any rejig.
