Karnataka leaders express grief over Air India crash

Bengaluru, June 12 (UNI) A wave of shock and sorrow swept across Karnataka's political spectrum on Wednesday following the tragic crash of Air India flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad, which was en route to London with over 200 passengers on board.
Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) patriarch H D Deve Gowda expressed deep anguish, calling it “a terrible tragedy.” In a statement, he said, “Deeply shocked and saddened. My thoughts and prayers are with families of those who were in the Air India flight. May God help us.”
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah termed the development “deeply distressing” and said, “I am deeply shocked to learn that an Air India flight with over 200 passengers has met with an accident in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Praying for everyone's safety and hoping that all those affected receive timely help and care.”
