Karnataka appoints 30 DRFOs in Chamarajanagar district

Chamarajanagara, Oct 29 (UNI) In order to curb poaching and illegal activities at BRT, Cauvery, M M Hills and Bandipur National Parks, the Karnataka government has appointed 30 Deputy Range Forest Officers (DFRO) in the district.
Chief Conservator of Forests (Chamarajanagara Range) Dr Manoj Kumar said there was shortage of staff in the forest department and difficulty in controlling the illegal activities including poaching in the district's national parks, they have submitted proposals for the 90 staff.
Stating that in order to control the forest crimes on the lines of the police forces, the forest department also will have rapid action forces formed.
