Kangra DC launches ‘Gau Seva Narayan Seva Portal’ for better management of cow shelters

Dharamshala, Jan 21 (UNI) Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa on Tuesday formally launched the Gau Seva Narayan Seva Portal at the DC Office auditorium to ensure greater public participation in the efficient management of cow shelters (gaushalas).
Launching the portal, the DC said that 24 gaushalas and four cow sanctuaries are currently being operated in Kangra district, providing shelter to around 1,802 stray cattle.
He said the portal would enable members of the public to make voluntary financial contributions for the upkeep of gaushalas, while ensuring transparency through the mandatory disclosure of an annual detailed account of expenditure of the funds received through the portal.
