K Reddy lays foundation stone for new ICSI Hyderabad building

Hyderabad, Apr 20 (UNI) Union Minister of Coal and Mines and Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the new building of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Hyderabad Chapter, at Anandanagar, Khairatabad on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kishan Reddy expressed his happiness at being part of the foundation stone-laying ceremony and called it a significant moment not only for the Hyderabad Chapter but also for the corporate governance ecosystem in the country.
He praised company secretaries for their vital role in shaping India's corporate sector, stating, "You have become the backbone of the country’s corporate governance by ensuring that companies uphold values, follow legal frameworks, and maintain transparency."
Highlighting their contribution to national growth, Reddy emphasised that company secretaries are helping drive the country's economic progress by managing corporate affairs with integrity.
He recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the ICSI Jubilee celebrations in 2017, had also recognised the role of company secretaries in developing corporate culture and instilling confidence in domestic business practices.
“This credibility has attracted domestic and foreign investors to India, helping us emerge as a global economic powerhouse,” Reddy noted.
Citing the ICSI motto ‘Satyam Vada, Dharmam Chara’ (Speak the Truth, Follow Righteousness), he urged company secretaries to uphold these values daily to advance India’s business environment with honesty and transparency.
He pointed out that India is already the fifth-largest economy in the world and is projected to surpass the $5 trillion mark in the next two years, attributing this success to the dedication and values upheld by professionals like company secretaries.
Reddy also acknowledged global recognition of Indian professionals, noting that countries like Germany and Japan are recruiting Indian company secretaries, lawyers, and accountants.
"The world is looking towards India for intellectual and professional talent. Developing such skills is not only for personal growth but also for contributing to the advancement of society and the world,” he said.
He expressed hope that organizations like ICSI and its professionals would continue to play a crucial role in making India self-reliant and a developed nation by 2047.
