K C Venugopal slams CPI(M) over police action on Shafi Parambil

Kannur, Oct 11 (UNI) AICC organizing general secretary KC Venugopal, MP, alleged today that the attack on KPCC working president Shafi Parambil at Perambra, yesterday was part of the government strategy to divert attention from the gold smuggling case linked to Sabarimala temple.
Talking to the media, Venugopal said, "This is the experience faced by the people's representative when Shafi Parambi visited a spot in his own constituency."
He warned that police officers responsible for such excess, would not go unpunished. He also termed the CPI(M)'s attempt to justify police brutality as "shameful".
