Justice Surya Kant appointed executive chairman of NALSA effective from May 14

New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) The President of India has appointed Justice Surya Kant, senior judge of the Supreme Court, as the new Executive Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
The appointment will take effect from May 14, following the elevation of Justice B R Gavai as the new CJI, who held the position until now.
Justice Surya Kant’s elevation to this crucial post comes in accordance with the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, specifically under Clause (b) of sub-section (2) of Section 3.

New Delhi, 6 Jun (UNI) After a brief respite from sweltering heat, temperatures in Delhi rise again, touching 40.0°C on Saturday and are expected to soar further, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Maximum temperatures in the national capital are expected to rise gradually in the next three days, reaching a peak of 42°C, said the IMD officials. The city’s minimum temperatures are also likely to increase by 3-5°C during the next 3-4 days, again crossing 30°C from Wednesday onwards.
