Justice Oka bids farewell to SC; CJI Gavai says both won't take post-retirement jobs

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Marking an emotional farewell to an illustrious judicial career, Justice Abhay S Oka was accorded a warm and respectful send-off by the Supreme Court Bar on his last working day, even as Chief Justice of India BR Gavai announced that both he and Justice Oka have decided not to accept any post-retirement positions.
Justice Oka’s final day was marked by extraordinary dedication, as he returned to work just a day after the passing of his mother to pronounce ten judgments from the Bench. This act of duty drew admiration from the legal fraternity and symbolized the tireless commitment with which he served the judiciary.
In a ceremonial bench led by Chief Justice of India BR Gavai, emotional tributes poured in from judges, senior advocates, and law officers.
