Joe Alwyn boards Tomas Alfredson's 'Seance on a Wet Afternoon'

London, March 10 (UNI) "Hamnet" famed actor Joe Alwyn is set to appear in "Seance on a Wet Afternoon," the directorial venture of Tomas Alfredson.
Principal photography has already commenced in the U.K.
Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) star in the drama, written by Adolescence writer Jack Thorne. Weisz plays Myra, a self-proclaimed medium, who convinces her husband, Billy (Macfadyen), to kidnap the son of a wealthy family so she can lead the police to the "missing" child and legitimise her psychic abilities.
Irish production banner Element Pictures, a Fremantle-owned company known for films such as "Bugonia" and "Poor Things", is producing the upcoming feature in collaboration with Astral Projection, the production outfit run by Rachel Weisz and British executive producer Polly Stokes.
The project falls under a first-look and development partnership established in 2024 between Astral Projection and Fremantle, aimed at jointly developing new film projects, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Robyn Slovo, Ed Guiney, and Andrew Lowe are producers for Element Pictures together with Stokes and Weisz for Astral Projection. Film4 and Fremantle are financing the film. Thorne and Macfadyen will act as executive producers, together with Farhana Bhula and David Kimbangi, for Film4. UNI NST SSP
