JMM seeks ECI clarification on voter roll revision process in Jharkhand

Ranchi, June 17 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has written to the Election Commission of India (ECI) seeking clarification on the procedure being followed for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the house-to-house enumeration process, expressing concern over possible inconvenience to genuine voters.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner on Wednesday, JMM General Secretary Vinod Kumar Pandey referred to the SIR exercise being undertaken in Bihar and sought clarification on whether similar guidelines have been issued or are proposed for Jharkhand.
The party cited ECI instructions stating that draft electoral rolls would be prepared on the basis of enumeration forms received along with supporting documents and that electors are required to submit self-attested documents to Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
