Jharkhand pushes for overhaul of critical care

Ranchi, Nov 14 (UNI) The Jharkhand government has approved a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the medical management of Intensive Care Units (ICU) and Critical Care Units (CCU) across government and private hospitals.
Unlike previous initiatives focused on individual hospital improvements, the newly approved SOP positions critical care as a unified state-wide framework, ensuring that patients receive consistent, safe and timely treatment regardless of where they seek emergency care.
According to experts, designed as a tiered protocol, the SOP lays down clear functional expectations from CHCs, district hospitals, medical colleges and state-level institutions.
