Jharkhand Governor Gangwar extends greetings on Tusu Mahotsav

Ranchi, Jan 13 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Tuesday extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Tusu Mahotsav organised at Morhabadi, stating that the festival is not merely a celebration but a symbol of folk traditions, collective labour culture and gratitude towards nature.
The Governor said, "Tusu reflects the deep emotional bond between nature and human life through folk faith, strengthening the cultural consciousness and joy of an agrarian society. "
He described the festival as a representation of Jharkhand’s folk ethos, conveying that traditions are not just a legacy of the past but also a guiding life philosophy for the present.

Two more owners of the illegal rat-hole coal mine arrested in Meghalaya

Shillong, Feb 15 (UNI) Meghalaya police arrested two more owners of the illegal rat-hole coal mine where a dynamite blast killed 31 mine workers in Mynsngat-Thangsko area of East Jaintia Hills district, police said on Sunday.
Earnest Swer and Rangsing Syiemlieh alias Mithun were arrested on Saturday after evading police arrest in connection with the deadly coal mine blast on February 5, police said.
