Japan's nuclear regulator extends work of 2 reactors at Takahama NPP to 60 years

Tokyo, May 29 (UNI) The Japanese Nuclear Regulation Authority has granted a 20-year lifespan extension for two reactors at Japan's Takahama nuclear power plant (NPP), located in Fukui Prefecture, Japanese news agency Kyodo reported on Wednesday.

The reactors numbers 3 and 4 of the Takahama NPP will turn 40 years old in 2025 and have recently become the 7th and 8th reactors in Japan to receive approval to operate for another 20 years.
