Jairam Ramesh criticises government over foreign policy announcements made abroad

‎New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Monday took aim at the Centre’s handling of foreign policy communication, alleging that key developments concerning India are being announced first by foreign leaders rather than by the government in New Delhi.
‎In a post on X, Ramesh wrote, “India hears of the halt to Operation Sindoor first from the US Secretary of State. India hears of the India-US trade deal first from the US President. Just now India has heard of Prime Minister Modi’s dates for his visit to Israel first from Mr. Netanyahu — who has reduced Gaza to rubble and dust and is now dispossessing and displacing more Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.”
‎While the Congress leader did not elaborate further, his remarks appeared to question what he suggested was a pattern of major diplomatic developments being disclosed by international counterparts before formal announcements from Indian authorities.
