J&K Police conducts mock drill at Nunwan base Camp ahead of Amarnath Yatra

Srinagar, June 12 (UNI) J&K Police in Anantnag district, along with Central Armed Police Forces and other stakeholder agencies, on Friday conducted a mock drill at Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam to review security preparedness and emergency response mechanisms ahead of the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra.
The Yatra to the cave shrine in the Himalayas of south Kashmir will begin on July 3 and conclude on August 28.
A police spokesman said the exercise was aimed at testing the preparedness, coordination and response capabilities of various security and emergency response agencies in dealing with potential contingencies during the Yatra.
