J&K Congress to intensify statehood movement

Jammu, July 15 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today decided to intensify its statehood movement by holding protest demonstration in Jammu, Srinagar and Delhi on the eve of Parliamentary session starting from July 21.
In a meeting of senior leaders held here under the chairmanship of JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Kara, senior leaders unanimously decided to hold series of protests.
Karra said, "Congress party has been protesting against the arbitrary, unconstitutional and undemocratic disbanding and downgrading of the historical state and had been demanding its restoration from day one while it is carrying on a movement for the restoration of statehood “Hamari Riyasat, Hamara Haq” since last year after the holding of Assembly elections on the directions of the Supreme Court."
