IWD: Javadekar applauds women forest officers

New Delhi/Hyderabad, Mar 8 (UNI) Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Monday applauded Forest Women Officers for choosing this sector as their proffesion.
Launching a book titled as Green Queens of India- Nation's Pride with contents of profile of the Women IFS Officers here in the national capital, the Union Minister conveyed the greetings to the Women Officers and Staff on the occasion of International Women's Day.
At present, there are 284 Nos. of Women Officers serving pan India.
Among them three Forest Officers are head of the states -- Telangana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh are functioning as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests.
The Union Minister greeted those women who wish to make careers in Forests believing equal topping in other sectors heights, which is a good and welcoming part. He aspired to see a ratio of 33 percent of women staff in the forest in the near future.
He appalued when PCCF R Sobha brought to the notice of the figure of 30 percent of women strength is serving the Telangana State. All the Officers who are in the conference intended to conduct a seminar after complete corona eradication.
At the launching session at Delhi along with the Central Minister some of the women IFS Officers were participated in the Video Conference.
In the Video conference along with PCCF R.Sobha, Ms C.S.Rama Lakshmi, IFS (Retd.) the first woman IFS officer, Ms Kamala Sobhana Rao (Retd.), Soni Bala Devi, IFS and OSD to CMO Priyankaa Varghese are also present in the meeting.
Mr P Gupta, Principal Secretary Central Forest Department, Director General Sanjay Kumar, and Central IFS Representatives attended the meeting, an official release here said.
