Italy to present Gaza reconstruction plan at UN General Assembly

Rome, Aug 14 (UNI) Italy will present a plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip during a session of the UN General Assembly in September, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said on Wednesday.
"In September, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, I will propose at the G7 level a project for not only the humanitarian but also the political and economic reconstruction of Gaza. Italy is ready to send a contingent to work on the creation of a Palestinian state, uniting the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, during a transitional period under the UN control and the leadership of Arab countries," Tajani said in an interview with Italian media.
Tajani also said that only the Palestinian National Authority could represent Palestine during the conflict resolution process, and not the Hamas movement.
