ISWAI Seeks Court Stay on ‘Maharashtra Kesari’ Wrestling Competition in Pune

Pune, Mar 15 (UNI) The Indian Style Wrestling Association of India (ISWAI) has approached the court seeking a stay and restraining order against the proposed ‘Maharashtra Kesari’ wrestling competition scheduled to be held in Wagholi area here from March 18 to 22.
ISWAI officials said at a press confereence on Sunday that the organisation has taken necessary legal steps to preserve the heritage and prestige of traditional wrestling titles such as ‘Hind Kesari’, ‘Bharat Kesari’, ‘Rustam-e-Hind’, and ‘Maharashtra Kesari’.
The association maintains that these historic titles are an integral part of India’s wrestling tradition and have been legally protected through trademark registrations. The association stated that it is committed to protecting the legacy of traditional Indian mud wrestling.
