Israel gives 48-hr entry period to Syrian security forces to enter Suwayda to curtail civil unrest

Jerusalem/Damascus, July 18 (UNI) In light of the escalating violence in Syria’s Druze-majority Suwayda province, Israel has given a 48-hour entry period to Damascus’ security forces to enter the province and curtail the ongoing unrest, reports Times of Israel.

“In light of the ongoing instability in southwest Syria, Israel has agreed to allow limited entry of the (Syrian) internal security forces into Suwayda district for the next 48 hours,” an official said, declining to share additional details.
