Israel and Congress oppose Trump's willingness to sell F-35 jets to Türkiye during NATO summit

Ankara, Jul 7 (UNI) US President Donald Trump on Tuesday signalling his willignness to consider allowing Türkiye back into the F-35 fighter jet programme and selling it to the Turkish Air Force has invited sharp criticism from Israel and the US Congress.
Speaking alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump suggested he was open to the idea of supplying the fifth gen-fighter jet aircraft to Türkiye despite longstanding objections from both within the US government and key allies, particularly Israel.
"Many people, including the people who are sitting here, think 'why wouldn't we do that'," Trump said when asked about a possible sale. "Turkey has been in many ways much more loyal than other countries that we think would be loyal. So, it is something we definitely would consider," reports Axios.
