IPL 2026 turns into next-gen takeover as Sudharsan, Raghuvanshi shine

Kolkata, May 16 (UNI) IPL 2026 is rapidly turning into the season of cricket’s next-generation takeover, with a fearless young brigade tearing through record books and redefining batting standards across the tournament.
On a day packed with milestones, Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan, Kolkata Knight Riders sensation Angkrish Raghuvanshi and New Zealand power-hitter Finn Allen emerged as the faces of a dramatic shift in the league’s batting landscape — one where youth is no longer waiting for its turn but dominating the biggest stage in T20 cricket.
Leading the charge was Sai Sudharsan, who became the fastest batsman in T20 history to complete 3,000 runs in terms of innings. The stylish left-hander reached the landmark in just 78 innings, eclipsing the previous record of 85 innings held by former Australia batsman Shaun Marsh and moving ahead of established T20 giants such as Devon Conway and Chris Gayle.
