Intl drug racket busted in Hyderabad, Nigerian held

Hyderabad, June 23 (UNI) In a significant victory against drug trafficking, The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) along with police busted an international drug racket by arresting three persons - a Nigerian and two local drug peddlers - police said here Monday.
Based on credible intelligence about a Goa-Hyderabad drug link, TGANB and Narsingi police raided a high-end flat at Alkapur Township in Manikonda, outskirts of the city on Sunday , where a drug transaction was in progress and all three were caught red-handed.
"Seized 107 grams of cocaine and 25 grams of ecstasy pills, along with six mobile phones, altogether worth Rs 30 lakh from their possession, who were allegedly operating an international drug racket from a plush residential complex," police said here.

In a statement here on Sunday, the former Chief Minister said: “I strongly condemn the illegal arrest of YSRCP Lok Sabha MP P V Midhun Reddy. This is nothing but a political conspiracy designed to silence those who stand with the people. Midhun Reddy, who has been elected as a Member of Parliament for three consecutive terms, has been falsely implicated through forced confessions. This is a targeted act of political vendetta by the TDP Government to cover up its own scams and failures.”

The former Chief Minister said that the alleged liquor scam is nothing but a manufactured narrative, created purely for media theatrics and to divert attention from real issues. The entire case is built on statements extracted under pressure, threats, third-degree torture, and also through bribes and inducements.

Arrested YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy sent to judicial remand till August 1

Vijayawada, July 20 (UNI) YSRCP MP, PV Mithun Reddy, who was arrested in the liquor scam on Saturday night, was produced before the ACB Court judge here on Sunday. The court sent him to the judicial remand till August 1 and he was sent to the Rajahmundry central prison.
