Internet services restored in Manipur

Imphal, June 13 (UNI) Internet services were restored at 6 am on Friday in five districts of Manipur.
Frequent internet bans had seriously affected normal government and private and business establishments. The education system was hit hard due to the ban.
After a crisis broke out after the arrest of a leader of an organisation, the internet was again banned from June 7, 11.45 pm, in five districts, including the state capital. The ban was followed by the imposition of an indefinite curfew by the government and a ten-day bandh by Arambai Tengol for the arrest of its leader. The bandh was called off on the third day.
The initial ban order was for five days, which ended at 11.45 pm on Thursday. A late-night order from the Home Commissioner N Ashok Kumar extended the ban till 6 am on June 13.
