Indonesia's Juniansyah defies odds with world record at IWF World Championships

Forde (Norway), Oct 7 (UNI) Despite two failed attempts in a new weight category, Indonesia's Olympic champion Rizki Juniansyah won two gold medals and set a new world record at the IWF World Championships here.
Juniansyah, the 2024 Olympic champion in the 73kg class, competed in the newly-added 79kg category alongside 38 other athletes on Monday.
However, in Group A, none of the 10 athletes completed their final attempts as two withdrew and eight failed, with 16 out of 30 failures in the snatch and 19 out of 30 unsuccessful in the clean and jerk.

Berlin, Nov 10 (UNI) VfL Wolfsburg dismissed head coach Paul Simonis with immediate effect following a string of disappointing results in the Bundesliga, the club announced.
The 40-year-old Dutchman departs less than four months after his appointment, with assistant coaches Peter van der Veen, Tristan Berghuis and Martin Darneviel also leaving. Under-19 coach Daniel Bauer, 43, will take charge of the first team on an interim basis.
"Parting ways with Paul Simonis was not an easy decision," said sporting director Peter Christiansen on Sunday.
