Indonesia kicks off free health check program nationwide

Jakarta, Feb. 10 (UNI) Indonesia launched the Free Health Check (CKG) program on Monday as a national initiative to improve public health quality and reduce preventable diseases.
"The program serves as a preventive measure against prevalent diseases in Indonesia. We expect this free health examination to cover all societal groups from infants to the elderly, helping people understand their health conditions," said Maria Endang Sumiwi, director general of primary and community health at the Ministry of Health, in an official statement.
The program provides various types of health examinations, ranging from hormone deficiency screening and congenital heart disease early detection, to nutrition, ear, eye, and blood pressure examinations. For adults and the elderly, the focus of the examination will include the risk of stroke, heart disease, cancer, as well as mental and physical health.
