India, UAE Deepen Energy and Strategic Partnership With New Agreements During Modi Visit

Abu Dhabi/New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday oversaw the signing of a series of bilateral agreements aimed at deepening cooperation in energy security, defence, trade, technology and supply chains, underscoring the rapidly expanding strategic partnership between the two countries.
The agreements signed covered a wide spectrum of strategic and economic cooperation, with a strong emphasis on energy security, infrastructure and defence collaboration. Key pacts included agreements to strengthen cooperation on strategic petroleum reserves, ensure long-term supplies of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to India, and establish a ship repair cluster at Vadinar in Gujarat.
The two countries also signed agreements to expand strategic defence cooperation and deepen partnerships in sectors such as agricultural research, MSME promotion and digital payments integration. In a major economic boost, investment commitments worth USD 5 billion were also announced in infrastructure projects, RBL Bank and Sammaan Capital.
