India's first underwater museum, artificial coral reef and submarine tourism project coming up in Sindhudurg

Kolhapur/Sindhudurgnagari, May 18 (UNI) Sindhudurg district, famous for its natural beauty, historical heritage and marine tourism, is now going to add another prestigious feather to its cap. India's first underwater museum, artificial coral reef project and submarine tourism project are being implemented in the Nivati Rocks area of Sindhudurg district.
This ambitious project will give a new dimension to the marine tourism sector of the country.
In a press conference at Tarkarli of this district, district collector Trupti Dhodmise and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) MD Nikesh Fatne said that the proud warship EX INS Guldar of the Indian Navy was in the service of the country for many decades. After being decommissioned, this warship is now being converted into a unique underwater tourism center. This warship, which will be immersed in a planned manner on the seabed, will be a major center of attraction for tourists.
