India-Russia 'go together. grow together': President Putin holds talks with PM Modi; several MoUs inked

New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) “Go together, grow together”, perfectly characterises the nature of the India-Russia partnership, Russian President Vladimir Putin said today as he concluded a much-watched visit to India and held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the discussions focused on economic cooperation, energy security, defence and security, and people to people ties.
The two sides saw the inking of several MoUs and announcements, including the opening of two Indian Consulates in Yekaterinburg and Kazan, and the issuing of a joint statement titled “INDIA - RUSSIA: A Time-Tested Progressive Partnership, Anchored in Trust & Mutual Respect’.
Reflecting the closeness of the ties, President Putin said in his banquet speech before concluding his 30-hour visit, in a reflection of PM Modi’s slogan of “Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas”: “I know that in India, you say go together, grow together. These words truly reflect the nature and character of the Russia-India relationship; and we will do everything to make sure the bilateral strategic partnership grows and develops for the good of our people.”
