India face must-win clash against Chinese Taipei to keep quarterfinal hopes alive

Sydney, March 9 (UNI) Still reeling from their heavy 0–11 defeat to Japan, India now face a do-or-die battle against Chinese Taipei in their final Group C match of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 at Western Sydney Stadium here on Tuesday.
The Blue Tigresses must win by at least two goals to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive. They will also need Japan to defeat Vietnam in the other simultaneous group match to advance to the knockout stage.
India are currently placed fourth in the group with zero points from two matches, having earlier lost 1–2 to Vietnam before suffering the heavy defeat against Japan.

WBSC unveils schedule of first softball Olympic qualification event
