India expanding footprint in global fashion arena: Victoria Kezar

New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) Miss Universe 2024 Victoria Kezar has extolled India's escalating prominence in the global fashion industry, asserting that the country is rapidly emerging as powerhouse of style and innovation.
Addressing the media during her maiden visit to India for the unveiling of the Miss Universe India 2025 crown, Kezar expressed immense gratitude for the warmth and hospitality extended to her.
"I have come to India for the first time, and I am happy to see the love and respect I have received. I am grateful to the Miss Universe India team for inviting me here. I have been travelling all over the world and can feel the growing influence of India in the fashion industry globally. I have spent only a short period of time in India but the people here are so sweet as if I have known them for years. I feel at home here," she said.
Highlighting India's growing stature in the realm of fashion, Kezar emphasised the country's innovative designers, diverse aesthetics and rich textile heritage as critical drivers of its expanding global reach.
Nikhil Anand, Director of Miss Universe India, revealed key highlights for the upcoming Miss Universe India 2025 competition.
“We are very happy to have Miss Universe Victoria Kezar and the representatives of the Miss Universe Organization with us in India. This year's Miss Universe India pageant is going to be more special than any previous edition of the beauty pageant. This year, more than 500 students will get a chance to volunteer and work with the Miss Universe India team. This year, state level competitions will be held in all the states of India and after that, Miss Universe India 2025 will be selected from among all the winners and she will be crowned as Miss Universe India 2025.”
Riya Singha, the current Miss Universe India, addressed the media and expressed her excitement at welcoming Kezar, describing her as "not only the most beautiful woman in the universe but also a cherished friend."
She added that Kezar would be immersed in the richness of India's diverse culture, cuisine and heritage during her stay.
The event also witnessed the grand unveiling of the Miss Universe India 2025 crown, heralded as the most opulent and extravagant diadem in the annals of Indian pageantry. Encrusted with rare gemstones and dazzling diamonds, the crown is a testament to opulence, artistry and prestige.
The Miss Universe India 2025 pageant is scheduled to be held in Thailand.
