INDIA bloc united over NEET-UG 2024 cancellation: Tejashwi

Patna, June 21 (UNI) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who has been accused of alleged links with perpetrators of NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case, on Friday claimed that all constituents of the INDIA bloc are united for the cancellation of the entrance exam to medical colleges over its widespread irregularities.
The Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly welcomed police interrogation of his aide if needed and said the central government was trying to divert the direction of the investigation into the NEET row, while the state government was saving the real culprits.
Yadav told the media here that NEET was organised on May 5 but its question papers were allegedly leaked and lots of irregularities came to light jeopardising the future of lakhs of students across the country who were preparing for admission to medical colleges.
Demands were being raised from all corners to cancel the NEET but the central government appeared reluctant, he added.
"Government is trying to divert the direction of investigation by linking the paper leak issue with my PA Preetam," Yadav said, adding "Preetam should be interrogated if police have any doubt. The Kingpin of the paper leak was Amit Anand but the government was trying to save him," he said.
The Leader of Opposition said that all constituents of the INDIA bloc were united to exert pressure on the government to cancel NEET. "BJP has been responsible for the paper leak, either the party in power at the Centre or in the state," he pointed out.
NEET was conducted across the country on May 5 and its result was declared on June 4 but the entire process was marred by paper leak and a series of other irregularities. Cases were also filed in the Supreme Court and other High Courts demanding cancellation of NEET.
