Increasing functional referral units in Bihar govt's top priority: Minister

Patna, Apr 30 (UNI) Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey on Wednesday said increasing the number of functional referral units was the state's NDA government's top priority as part of efforts to improve treatment facilities in the districts.
Pandey said facilities of caesarian delivery would also be provided in FRUs.
" Number of FRUs was 69 in August, 2024, which increased to 106 in March this year ", the Minister said adding that people living in far flung areas could also get treatment facilities in FRUs during any emergency. Maternity care and treatment facilities had also increased considerably in the NDA regime led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he added.
